The Padel Factory Tuam: Booking, Courts & What to Expect
The Padel Factory is open! Tuam's new indoor padel venue welcomed its first players in June 2026, bringing the fastest-growing sport in Ireland to north Galway at last. Here's everything you need to know before your first game.
The Essentials
- Where: Airglooney Business Park, just off the Tuam bypass, Tuam, Co. Galway
- Courts: 3 indoor courts — padel year-round, whatever the Atlantic throws at us
- Booking: through the free “The Padel Factory” app (powered by Matchpoint) on the App Store and Google Play — download, register, tap Bookings, pick your slot
- Instagram: @padelfactorytuam for opening hours, news and session announcements
Why This Opening Matters
The Padel Factory — the project of Dunmore man Thomas Gleeson — is the first padel venue serving north and east Galway and south Mayo. Until now the nearest indoor courts were in Galway city, so a dedicated three-court facility off the Tuam bypass puts the sport within easy reach of everyone from Castlebar to Athenry. Judging by a packed opening week, the demand was well and truly there.
New to Padel?
Padel is the easiest racket sport to pick up — most people are enjoying proper rallies within their first 20 minutes. It's played in doubles on an enclosed glass court, the serve is underhand, and the walls are part of the game. Get up to speed with our beginner's guide and the rules of padel before your first session, and book with three friends — it's doubles only.
What to Bring
Non-marking court shoes, sportswear, a racket and padel balls. If you're just starting, our padel starter kits bundle a beginner racket, balls, grip and protector from €79.95 with free delivery to Galway — or read our beginner racket guide and browse the full 2026 racket range.
