New to Padel?
Padel is easy to pick up and incredibly fun. Played in doubles on an enclosed glass court roughly a third the size of a tennis court, it combines elements of tennis and squash. All you need is a padel racket, some balls, and a court — browse our rackets and balls to get started, then find your nearest court below. How Court Booking Works in Ireland
Most Irish venues rent courts by the hour, with prices typically between €25 and €44 per court — split four ways, that's roughly €7–€11 each for an hour of play. Peak evening and weekend slots book out fastest, especially in Dublin and Cork, so it's worth reserving a few days ahead. Nearly every venue takes bookings online through platforms like Playtomic or MATCHi, and most run social sessions and beginner nights where you can turn up solo and be matched with players of a similar level. Many clubs rent rackets for a few euro if you want to try the sport before buying your own.
Indoor or Outdoor?
With Irish weather, indoor and covered courts are the safe bet for a guaranteed game year-round — most of the newer dedicated padel centres are fully indoor. Outdoor courts are more common at tennis clubs and tend to be cheaper, but check the venue's cancellation policy for rain. Do I need to be a member to play?
Usually not. Most dedicated padel centres are pay-and-play — you just book a slot online. Some tennis and sports clubs reserve courts for members at peak times but offer public bookings off-peak.
How much does it cost to play padel?
Expect €25–€44 per court per hour depending on venue, time and location — around €7–€11 per player. Racket rental, where offered, is usually €3–€5.
