House of Padel: What to Know Before You Visit

House of Padel is Dublin's first premium indoor padel club, located at 5 Old Belgard Road in the Cookstown Industrial Estate, Dublin 24. Since opening in mid-2024, it has quickly become one of the most popular padel venues in Ireland, combining world-class courts with wellness facilities and a genuine community atmosphere. If you are planning your first visit or considering a membership, this guide covers everything you need to know.

The courts

House of Padel features four meticulously designed indoor courts with professional-grade artificial grass surfaces and full panoramic glass walls. Being fully indoor means playing conditions are perfect year-round — no wind, no rain, no cancelled sessions. The courts are well-lit with LED lighting designed to minimise glare, and the spacing between courts gives players room to move without feeling cramped.

The venue also has Ireland's first dedicated pickleball court, making it a multi-sport facility for racquet sport enthusiasts.

All courts are bookable via Playtomic, which shows real-time availability and lets you book and pay online.

Pricing and court hire

Court hire is split into peak and off-peak rates:

Off-peak (7am–3pm): €40 per court per hour
Peak (4pm–10:30pm): €50 per court per hour

Split between four players, that works out to €10–€12.50 per person per hour — roughly the same as a gym session and considerably more fun. Booking is through Playtomic, where you can see available slots up to 7 days in advance (14 days for members).

Membership

A House of Padel membership costs €40 per month and comes with meaningful benefits:

  • 25% discount on court hire and coaching sessions
  • 14-day booking window (vs 7 days for non-members) — this matters for popular evening slots
  • 1 free off-peak coaching session (60 minutes) per month
  • 10% player discount on additional services
  • Access to member-only events and tournaments

If you play twice a week during peak hours, the 25% court discount alone saves you around €50 per month — more than the cost of the membership. For regular players, it pays for itself quickly.

Coaching and lessons

House of Padel runs a structured coaching programme suitable for all levels. Options include:

Group coaching sessions — competitive mix-ins, 6-week courses, lunchtime intensives, and technical clinics. These are the best value way to improve and meet other players at your level.

Private lessons — one-on-one or pairs coaching with qualified instructors for focused technique work.

Beginner sessions — if you have never played padel before, the beginner group sessions cover everything: grip, serve, positioning, basic shots, and how to use the walls. One session is enough to get you comfortable on court. Our beginner's guide is worth reading before your first lesson.

Wellness and facilities

House of Padel goes well beyond just courts. The facility includes:

  • Sauna — perfect for post-match recovery
  • Ice bath plunge pools — cold therapy for muscle recovery, increasingly popular with athletes
  • Health food bar — post-game coffees, smoothies, and healthy snacks
  • Yoga and Pilates classes — expertly led sessions to complement your padel training with flexibility and core work
  • Modern changing rooms with hot showers and lockers
  • On-site parking — free and convenient

This combination of sport and wellness makes it more than a padel club — it is a place you can spend a morning or evening, not just an hour on court.

What players say

House of Padel has built an impressive reputation quickly, accumulating 45+ five-star Google reviews within its first month of opening. Players consistently praise the court quality, the welcoming atmosphere, and the standard of the facilities.

Common themes in reviews:

  • Courts are "immaculate" and "world-class"
  • Staff are friendly and helpful, especially with beginners
  • The sauna and ice baths are a genuine highlight
  • The venue feels "premium without being pretentious"
  • Easy to find playing partners through social sessions

The club is rated 4.7 out of 5 across review platforms, making it one of the highest-rated padel venues in Ireland.

What to bring

Racket

House of Padel offers racket hire, so you can play without owning one. But if you are a regular or planning to become one, having your own racket makes a noticeable difference. A round-shaped or teardrop racket is ideal for the indoor game where control matters more than raw power.

Bullpadel Icon 2026 Juan Martin Diaz

Round shape, balanced weight, carbon fibre. The all-court racket from the greatest player ever.

€229.95

Balls

The club provides balls, but bringing a fresh tube guarantees optimal bounce quality. A tube of 3 costs under €10 and will last you several sessions.

Shoes

Non-marking court shoes are required on the indoor courts. Tennis shoes, indoor court shoes, or dedicated padel shoes all work. Running shoes are not suitable — they lack the lateral support padel demands and can mark the court surface. See our padel shoes guide for recommendations.

Overgrip and protector

An overgrip improves comfort and absorbs sweat, especially important during intense indoor sessions. A racket protector prevents frame damage from wall contact — an €8 investment that can save your €200+ racket from scratches and chips.

Nox Pro Overgrips (Pack of 3)

Smooth tacky feel with excellent moisture absorption. Replace every 3-5 sessions.

€7.95

Nox Transparent Racket Protector

Invisible frame protection. Essential for preserving your racket from wall contact.

Tips for your first visit

Book in advance. Peak evening slots (6–9pm) fill up fast, especially Tuesdays and Thursdays. Book 5–7 days ahead to guarantee your preferred time.

Arrive 15 minutes early. This gives you time to change, find your court, and warm up. The staff are happy to show you around if it is your first time.

Try a group session first. If you do not have four players, join a social mix-in or beginner group session. These are the best way to meet playing partners and get comfortable with the sport in a relaxed, coached environment.

Use the wellness facilities. The sauna and ice baths are included with your court booking — do not skip them. A 10-minute sauna session followed by a cold plunge is the perfect way to recover after an intense match.

Ask about membership after your first visit. If you enjoy the experience and plan to play regularly, the €40/month membership is excellent value. Try before you commit.
