Where to Play Padel in Kilkenny

Where to Play Padel in Kilkenny
Kilkenny’s padel scene is in its early days, but there’s a strong foundation to build on and plenty of excitement about what’s coming. The Marble City currently has one court at the local tennis club, but with two major developments in the works — including a six-court facility at Gowran Park — Kilkenny is set to become a serious player on the padel map. A major new six-court facility at Cillin Hill is also on the way.
Kilkenny County & City Lawn Tennis Club was the first to bring padel to the county, adding a court that’s proved popular with members and visitors. It’s a great introduction to the sport in a welcoming club setting. But it’s the coming soon venues that have people really talking. Arena Padel at Gowran Park has planning permission granted for a six-court indoor and outdoor facility — the kind of venue that could put Kilkenny on the padel map for the entire southeast. And Padel Hub at Cillin Hill will add another six courts, giving the county serious capacity.
If you’re in Kilkenny and curious about padel, head to the LTC and give it a try. And keep your ear to the ground for the Arena Padel and Padel Hub openings — once those courts are up and running, Kilkenny will have thirteen courts across three venues, which is a serious offering for a county just getting started with the sport.
