Updated 2 October 2026: Park Padel at Waterpark RFC in Ballinakill is now open with four outdoor courts.

Waterford has 10 open padel courts across three venues — four at the Woodlands Hotel on the Dunmore Road, four at Park Padel at Waterpark RFC in Ballinakill, and two at Padel 100's courts at Bohemians FC in the city. Five more venues are at various stages, from confirmed openings to schemes with planning granted.

Woodlands Hotel & Leisure Centre — Dunmore Road

Type: Outdoor | Courts: 4

Waterford's first padel venue and, with four courts, joint largest in the county alongside Park Padel. Four outdoor courts on the Dunmore Road, backed by the hotel's leisure facilities — which makes it straightforward to turn a game into a longer session. It is the default option for anyone in or near the city, and the four-court count means you can usually get a slot without booking days ahead.

Park Padel at Waterpark RFC — Ballinakill

Type: Outdoor | Courts: 4

Location: Waterpark RFC, Ballinakill, Waterford X91 C822

Four outdoor doubles courts at Waterpark Rugby Club in Ballinakill, open since the start of October 2026. All four were taking bookings on Playtomic when we checked on 2 October. The club lists opening hours of 08:00 to 22:00, with early-morning slots from 07:00. There is free parking, a changing room and lockers on site, and the club also has 4G football pitches.

Prices (per court, as listed on Playtomic, checked 2 October 2026):

• Early morning, 07:00–10:00: €20 per hour
• Daytime and peak: €30 per hour
• 90-minute bookings: €30–€40

Padel 100 — Bohemians FC, Waterford City

Type: Outdoor | Courts: 2

Location: Ben Wadding Park, Poleberry, Waterford city

Two outdoor courts at Bohemians FC, right in the city. This is the community end of the sport — courts at an established soccer club rather than a purpose-built centre — and it is the cheapest and easiest way to get on a court in Waterford. Bookable through Playtomic; search for “Padel 100 Bohemians FC Waterford”.

Two courts under development at Dungarvan CBS, which would give Dungarvan its first padel venue and cut a long drive for players in the west of the county.

Dunmore East

Two courts consented for Dunmore East. A good fit for a village whose population multiplies over the summer, and one of the more scenic places you will play in the southeast.

Newtown Practice Range — Tramore

Type: Outdoor | Courts: 2 | Status: Planning granted

Two courts consented at the Newtown Practice Range in Tramore, bringing padel to the county's busiest seaside town.

Reported But Not Yet Confirmed

Two further Waterford venues have been reported but we have not been able to verify them independently — no booking listing, no planning reference we can point to, no operator confirmation. We list them here rather than alongside the confirmed venues, because the distinction matters if you are planning a trip.

A local note on kit

All three open Waterford venues are outdoor, so a spare overgrip in the bag earns its place on a damp evening on the Dunmore Road. Hire at the desk is about €5 per racket per session, or close to €260 over a year of weekly games, which is the arithmetic behind our starter kits at €89.95 for racket, balls, overgrip and edge protector.
