The attacking frame in Babolat's intermediate range — a head-heavy diamond with a 9.0 rebound and a generous sweet spot for its shape. Discontinued by Babolat; we have one.
The Babolat Technical Vertuo 2.5 is the diamond in Babolat's 2025 Vertuo range — the attacking option in a range otherwise built around control and comfort. It puts the balance at 270mm, head-heavy, over a carbon frame, fibreglass faces and an EVA core, and Babolat classes it as a Technical Striker racket: for players who want to finish points. Babolat has since discontinued it, and it no longer appears in their current range. Here is what the specifications and the independent testers say.

What reviewers praise
Rebound. 9.0 is the standout number. The EVA core and the flex in the fibreglass faces give the ball a fast, lively exit — which is what a head-heavy diamond is for.
Overheads. Padelful calls overhead shots "a highlight": the high balance and the larger grip make it easier to apply force and angle on a smash and direct it where you want it. At the net, it accelerates the ball quickly.
Sweet spot for the shape. An 8.4 on a diamond is unusual. Padelful notes the "generously sized sweet spot promotes better shot-making, even when struck off-centre" — which takes some of the sting out of the usual diamond trade-off.
What reviewers criticise
Control. 7.4 — the lowest score on the card, and the honest price of a 270mm balance. Placement is fine when you're on time; when you're late, the head is somewhere else.
Adjustment period. Padelful's own conclusion: "It may require a bit of an adjustment period, but once comfortable, its potential becomes undeniable." If you're coming from a round or even-balanced frame, expect a few sessions of recalibration.
It's been discontinued. Babolat no longer lists it; the Vertuo range has moved to the 2.6 generation with no direct diamond replacement at this price. We have one, and we will not be getting more.
Irish conditions
A carbon-framed diamond is stiffer than a beginner frame, but the fibreglass faces and EVA core keep it from turning harsh in the cold — Padelful rates the touch medium-soft, and the Vibrabsorb System damps what's left. Where you'll notice Irish conditions is in the timing: on a chilly outdoor court with a heavier ball, a 270mm balance is less forgiving of a late swing. The bottom line
The Technical Vertuo 2.5 is what the Vertuo range looks like when it's told to attack: a head-heavy diamond with a fast rebound and a sweet spot bigger than the shape usually allows. It asks for technique — the 7.4 control score is real — and Padelful is right that it takes a few sessions to settle into. But for an intermediate player in Ireland who's ready to start finishing points and wants a Babolat diamond without paying tour-frame money, it's a good racket at a run-out price. There is one. When it's gone, it's gone.
