Ireland's padel boom shows no sign of slowing down. Over the past few months, several new venues have opened their doors and a wave of ambitious new builds have been announced from Dublin to Galway to Belfast. Recently Opened
PSLC Portmarnock — 3 New Courts
Location: Blackwood Lane, Portmarnock, Co. Dublin
Courts: 3 new padel courts (total now 5+)
Status: Open since March 2026
Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Club has expanded its padel offering with three brand-new courts, opened in March 2026. PSLC was already one of the largest outdoor padel venues on Dublin's northside, and this expansion cements its position. Courts are bookable through the Gladstone app, and the club runs regular social sessions and coaching for all levels.
Star Padel — Templeogue, Dublin
Location: St Mary's College RFC, Templeogue, Dublin 6W
Courts: 4 outdoor
Status: Open
Star Padel has quickly established itself as one of Dublin's top new padel venues. Based at St Mary's College RFC in Templeogue, the club has professional-standard courts and has been selected as the host venue for the Hiscox Padel Irish Open in July 2026 — a major endorsement of the facility's quality. Courts are bookable via Playtomic, and coaching, social play, and league options are all available. A brilliant option for players on Dublin's southside.
Coming Soon — Major New Facilities
West Wood Club Leopardstown — 8 Indoor Courts
Location: Leopardstown Racecourse, Foxrock, Dublin 18
Courts: 8 indoor padel + 2 pickleball
Expected Opening: End of August 2026
This is one of the most anticipated padel openings in the country. West Wood Club is building eight indoor padel courts at Leopardstown Racecourse, making it one of the largest dedicated indoor padel facilities in Ireland. The courts are being supplied by MejorSet, and bookings will be handled through Playtomic. When it opens, it will be a game-changer for indoor padel in south Dublin and beyond.
Padel Hub Kilkenny — 6 Courts at Cillin Hill
Location: Cillin Hill, Kilkenny
Courts: 6 (4 indoor + 2 outdoor)
Expected Opening: TBA
Padel Hub Kilkenny is a brand-new purpose-built facility at Cillin Hill, featuring six courts across indoor and outdoor setups. The venue will include a spectator viewing deck and is being designed as a real destination for padel in the southeast. This is a huge boost for Kilkenny, which until now has had just one court at the local tennis club. Follow @padelhub_kk on Instagram for updates.
The Padel Club Cork — 6 Indoor Courts in Douglas
Location: St Patrick's Woollen Mills, Douglas, Cork
Courts: 6 indoor
Investment: €2m+
Expected Opening: Late 2026
Cork is getting a major new dedicated padel facility. The Padel Club Cork is backed by over €2 million in investment and will feature six indoor courts at the historic St Patrick's Woollen Mills site in Douglas. Planning has been approved and construction is expected through 2026. When it opens, it will significantly expand Cork's indoor padel capacity alongside existing venues like The Hive and Padel Tennis Ireland in Carrigtwohill.
Atlantic Padel Club — 7 Indoor Courts in Galway
Location: Galway City
Courts: 7 premium indoor glass courts
Expected Opening: 2026
Atlantic Padel Club is set to become the largest padel facility in Connacht. With seven premium indoor glass courts currently under construction, this is a serious statement of intent for the sport in the west. Galway's existing indoor option — Project Padel with three courts — has been popular but limited in capacity. Atlantic Padel will more than triple the city's indoor court count.
Let's Go Padel — Belfast City Centre
Location: Belfast City Centre
Courts: 4 (2 doubles + 2 singles, retractable roof)
Expected Opening: H1 2026
Let's Go Padel is expanding from their existing Ballymoney base into Belfast city centre. The new venue will feature four courts — two doubles and two singles — with a retractable roof for year-round play. This will bring padel right into the heart of Northern Ireland's biggest city, making the sport far more accessible for the Belfast population.
Arena Padel — Gowran Park, Kilkenny
Location: Gowran Park, Co. Kilkenny
Courts: 5 indoor
Expected Opening: TBA
Backed by former Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given, Arena Padel has planning approval for a five-court indoor facility at the iconic Gowran Park racecourse. This celebrity-backed venture is one of the most high-profile padel projects in the country and will make the Kilkenny area a genuine padel destination in the southeast.
What This Means for Irish Padel
The numbers tell the story. Ireland had fewer than 10 padel courts in 2021. By mid-2026, we are tracking over 125 courts across 50+ venues, with another 30+ courts in the pipeline. The sport's growth is no longer confined to Dublin — significant investment is flowing into Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Belfast, and beyond.
For players, this means shorter wait times for courts, more variety in venue types (indoor, outdoor, dedicated clubs, hotel venues), and growing communities of players to compete and socialise with. For the sport itself, it means Ireland is well on its way to becoming a mature padel market in Europe.
